Buck O'Neil was a first baseman who played in the Negro Leagues from 1937-1955, but he made great contributions to baseball and society after that. He was the first black coach in Major League history when he broke in with the Chicago Cubs. He also fought to get Negro League stars into Cooperstown, and he helped establish the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City.
